A great movie night doesn’t need a dedicated theatre room. Whether you’re gathering on the sofa for an animated favourite or settling in for a weekend blockbuster, the right projector starts with your room, your streaming habits, and your budget.
Dangbei’s N3 Max and MP1 Max both include licensed Netflix, built-in speakers, and automatic picture-adjustment features. Here’s how to choose between them.
N3 Max: A lower-cost start to bigger movie nights
At CAD $699.99, the N3 Max is the more accessible option for households trying a projector for the first time.
It offers native 1080p resolution, 1,000 ISO lumens, and a built-in 180° gimbal stand for adjusting the projection angle. Automatic focus, keystone correction, screen fit, and obstacle avoidance help simplify setup.
VIDAA OS includes Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. Apple AirPlay 2 support is also useful for households that want to share content from compatible Apple devices. Dual 6W speakers provide built-in audio, while VIDAA Kids includes parental screen-time controls.
Choose N3 Max if your priority is a straightforward movie-night setup at a lower upfront cost.
MP1 Max: A premium step up in picture and sound
At CAD $2,499.99, the MP1 Max is aimed at households looking for a more substantial home-cinema upgrade.
Its 4K UHD resolution and 3,100 ISO lumens offer higher resolution and a higher brightness specification than the N3 Max. Its Dual Light 2.0 engine combines triple-laser and LED technology.
Google TV provides access to streaming apps, including licensed Netflix. Built-in dual 12W speakers support Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual:X. The integrated stand offers 360° horizontal rotation and 135° vertical tilt, and a carrying case is included.
Choose MP1 Max if 4K detail, higher brightness, and a more powerful built-in speaker system are priorities.
Will either projector work in your living room?
Start with the room, not the biggest advertised screen size. Measure where the projector could sit and the surface you want to project onto, then check the model’s projection-distance requirements before deciding.
Think about when you’ll watch, too. Curtains and lower room lighting can help create a more cinematic experience. The MP1 Max has the higher brightness specification, but neither brightness figure alone guarantees how an image will look in your particular room.
Finally, check your household’s must-have streaming apps. Both models include licensed Netflix, but they use different smart-TV platforms: VIDAA OS on N3 Max and Google TV on MP1 Max.
The simple choice
For a lower-cost introduction to projector movie nights, start with N3 Max. For a premium 4K upgrade with higher brightness and stronger built-in audio specifications, consider MP1 Max.
The best choice is the one that fits the room where your family actually spends time together.
